📚 Use of Will
Will is an auxiliary verb. We use it to talk about future events, predictions, promises, offers, and instant decisions.
1️⃣ Future Predictions
- He will love your new coat.
- I don’t think they’ll win.
- Perhaps I’ll be late.
2️⃣ Promises & Refusals
- I will lend her the money.
- I won’t help you.
3️⃣ Instant Decisions
- A: There’s no milk in the fridge.
B: I’ll go to the shop. - A: This box is heavy.
B: Don’t worry, I’ll help you.
4️⃣ Offers & Suggestions
Shall I…? / Shall we…? are also used for polite offers or suggestions.
- Shall I make some coffee? (Offer)
- Shall we go to the cinema? (Suggestion)
💡 Tip: Combine will
with I think, I hope, I’m sure for predictions: “I’m sure you’ll be fine.”
